Hallo group members! My family lived in Hampshire from 1700 to 1850, the name was HUTCHINS. Starting from Weyhill, then Penton Mewsey, Upper Clatford and Monxton. Any information welcomed! Many thanks, Yvonne

New to the group
I am researching PLASKETT, HOPKINS and others. The PLASKETTS (Portsmouth) and HOPKINS (Lymington) were like many, workers in the Royal Dock Yards back to at least 1740. My grandfather migrated to Canada in 1903.
There are persistant rumors of a Plaskett inheritance between 1895 and 1910 that has plagued generations in several families.

I was born in Hampshire. Portsmouth to be percise. As was my geat grandmother (mother side) in Tadly. My father & grandfather were also born in Portsmouth.
My grandfather serving in the mechant navy as a Lt. In my profile picture, if the camera turned 180 degrees, you would see the same view as shown in the Hampshire Genealogy page, here. The Chalk Pits of Paulsgrove. Im my photo, I am at work at The Defence Diving School, HMS Excellent, Horsea Island, Portsmouth. I worked at HMS Excellent for 18 years before moving to Scotland.

I have family links to folks born in the area from where Major Preddy was born. Greensboro, North Carolina.
With a possible link via his mother, Clara Noah..Sometime ago I found a possible link via the Noe name..But as yet not been able to complete the link...but I am sure it is there. The Gunter family, to whom I am related to via my great grandmother, Minnie Gunter..has a very large spread of Gunters in the Virginia & North Carolina areas. I have been in contact with the Majors cousin, Joe Noah, for a number of years , and he is also looking into the a possible link.
To have a link to a man, my hero, about whom I have had an interest in since I was about 12 years old..would be incredible!
I hope to complete that link before Joe passes away..as he is getting on..and would love him to know we are related...Its something I could not of dreamed about all those years ago...something which started with an Airfix model.

FANTASTIC!...great news.....they are superb!....I wish folks would think more about these kind of national treasure..because once they are gone..there gone..and it's a real shame. I am a huge aviation fan, and so give to aviation projects..like the Vuclan..and Blenheim projects.
The last 2 reamaining flying examples of the type..though the Blenheim is being restored after a crash landing. Anotehr example of crash landing restore is an aircraft close to my heart "Miss Helen" P-51 Mustang...which landed gears up not long ago. She is the aircraft I treasure most as an enthusiast. She is the only remaining original P-51 of the 352nd Fighter Group. A group I have an immense passion for. I have run a website dedicated to it's most revered pilot, Major George Earl Preddy Jr for 10 years. He was shot down a killed by his own side on Christmas Day 1944. He was the highest scoring P-51 pilot of WW2. "Miss Helen" was flown by Capt. Raymond Littge as wingman to Major Preddy a number of combat missions. Littge was so in ore of Preddy, he named his son in honour Major Preddy. Unfortunately, Ray Littge was killed flying one of the new US jets, P-80 Shooting star in 1949...and his son was killed flying F-4 Phantoms in the early 70's. "Miss Helen" was Rays aircarft...with victories to it's credit. So..I truely hope she flies again.
