BLAKEMAN, ALMA BAKER
Nicholasville--Alma Baker Blakeman, 85, of 112 Winston Avenue in Lexington, a Jessamine County native, widow of Thomas Blakeman, died yesterday (October 24, 1985) at Capitol Hall Nursing Home, Frankfort. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guyn, Kurtz, Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today.

BLAKEMAN, ELLARD C.
Ellard C. Blakeman, 10 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Blakeman, died yesterday morning (January 11, 1928) at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Stanford Lee, James Henry and William Arthur Blakeman. Funeral services will be held at the residence this morning, with burial at Pleasant Hill, Jessamine County, Kentucky.

BLAKEMAN, MRS. AARON
Mrs. Aaron (Lucy) Blakeman, 66, died at her home at Logana, Ky. (July 11, 1927), of heart trouble. She is survived by her husband and seven children; Mrs. Alexander Stinnet, Robert, Stanley, and Miss Susan Blakeman of Jessamine County, Thomas and John Blakeman of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Virgil Moore of Somerset. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Burying Ground.

BLAKEMAN, WILLIAM LESTER
The body of Sgt. William Lester Blakeman, 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Blakeman, Fayette County, will arrive Saturday in Moreland. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson Cemetery. Sgt. Blakeman died Monday after a heart attack at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif., where he was stationed. He was a native of Jessamine County, and had been in the Air Force for nine years. He had been stationed at bases in England, Germany and Greenland. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gloria Smith Blakeman, formerly of Liberty; a six-month-old daughter, Rachael, and two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Scott and Mrs. Lloyd Gray, and three brothers, Lyman, Bobby and Howard Blakeman, all of Lexington.
Nicholasville, Friday, February 18, 2000 Charity Blakeman Fain, 100, 3021 Danville Road, who had been a homemaker, widow of Robert A. Fain, died Wednesday. Services 2 p.m. Saturday, Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation 3-8 p.m. today, Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
Bronson Morris Blakeman, 87, husband of Mrs. Edna Dean Blakeman, Route 3, Sugar Creek Road, Nicholasville, died at 12:30 pm Saturday at U K Medical Center after a short illness. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. He was a son of the late Smith and Lucinda Chitwood Blakeman. Additional survivors are one daughter, Mrs Eddie Gay, Lancaster (author's note-this was a step-daughter), one brother, Herman Blakeman, Lexington, one sister, Mrs Charity Fain, Jessamine County, five granddaughters, Miss Diana Gay, Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs Billy Lanham, Lancaster, Mrs Steve Casey, Hialeah, Florida, Mrs Suzanne Casey, Lancaster, Miss Becky Dean Gay, Lancaster, two great granddaughters, Stephanie Lanham, Lancaster, Tamara Casey, Lancaster, several nieces and nephews. Services 2pm Tuesday at Betts and West Funeral Home, Nicholasville, with Rev Richard Wilson officiating. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville. Bearers: A.G.Canter, John Teater, Fred Dunn, Edward PerkinsClevert Gayhart and Frank Teater.
Edna Scott Blakeman, 87, died Wednesday, October 25, 1995 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, Ky. A resident of Richmond Road, Lancaster, Ky., she was born December 21, 1907, in Jessamine Co., Ky. and was a daughter of Harvey A and Elva Kemp Dean. She was a homemaker and a former salesclerk for Hobbs Department Store and Heathmans Grocery in Nicholasville for several years. She was a member of Mt Zion Methodist Church in Jessamine Co., Ky. and the widow of Bronson Blakeman. Survivors include a daughter Nora Gay of Lancaster, Ky.; five granddaughters, Diana Adams and Cindy Casey, both of Lexington, Ky., Linda Lanham, Suzanne Young and Becky Sevier all of Lancaster, Ky.; six great grandchildren, Sara Adams, Stephanie Lanham, Brooks Casey, Ross Casey, Jason Sevier and Tami Gay; a brother, James Harvey Dean of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters Geneva Harvey of Nicholasville, Ky., and Mattie Ann Roberts of Lake Worth, Fla. Graveside services were held Friday, October 27, 1995 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville officiated by Chaplain Steve Bredson. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Herbert Blakeman, aged 21 years, died at his home on the Sugar Creek Road, Thursday, May 10, (1928), following an illness of several months. He is survived by his widow and one child; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Blakeman, of Jessamine County. Funeral services were held at the Little Hickman Church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. I. Peel. Burial in family burying ground.
Liston Blakeman, 66, of 503 Maryland Avenue, Lexington, a former resident of Nicholasville, died Sunday, March 25 (1973), at the University Hospital, Lexington. Survivors include a son, Liston Blakeman; Jr., of Clay City; a sister; Mrs. Irma Hughes, Lexington; a half-sister, Mrs. Alma Blakeman, Lexington; a half-brother, Tom Brumfield, Lexington, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Guyn, Kurtz, Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home by Rev. E. E. Sivis. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers were Miles Mulcahy, Harold Denny, W. J. Brumfield, Gayle Hughes, W. R. Jennings, and Jim Hess.
Mrs. Maggie English Blakeman, 72, widow of Albert Blakeman, was found dead in bed in her apartment on Main Street about 7 o'clock Monday morning (October 21, 1945) by her son, Clarence Blakeman, who resided with her. She was thought to have been dead about nine hours. Besides her son, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. P. Jones of Winchester; Mrs. Tom Blakeman of Fayette County; three other sons Liston Blakeman and Tom Brumfield of Lexington, and Walter Baker of Hamilton, Ohio; eight brothers C. C. English of Jessamine County; Chester English of Nicholasville; Hubert English of Cincinnati, O.; Dr. J. W. English of Chicago; Edward English, Delos English, Grover C. English and Robert English of Indiana; sister Mrs. Minnie Peel of Nicholasville. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Guyn & Kurtz funeral home with Rev. W. J. Arvin officiating. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Otha Walker, Eldridge Craig, Richard Forrest, W. T. Brumfield, Lester Blakeman and Buell English.
My name is Debra Kay (Dean) Neal. Edna Blakeman was one of my dads sisters. my dad was late Carl Vernon Dean. Aunt Edna's other brothers and sisters (who are deceased but not mentioned,as in preceded). are Mattie Ann Dean Roberts,(known by family and friends as "Patsy"). Buanna Dean Roberts, Craig Dean, Floyd Dean, Harrison Dean(there were 2 Harrison Deans in Nicholasville,Ky./ Jessamine County) but this uncle was son of Harvey A. and Elva Kenp Dean (my paternal grandparents).
i was told there was another sister. she died from leukemia i believe. but i can not remember her name.
