Dave Dowell's Comments

Dave, I have two connections to the Dowell family. First, Mary "Polly" Dowell married Aaron Chambers in 1822 in NC. Their 2nd son Hugh B. Chambers was married to a Lucinda, Hunter I believe. Lucinda's death certificate (June 11, 1910; KC, MO) listed her father as Henry Hunter and mother maiden name as Dowell. I do not know when or where Lucinda married Hugh B. but do know that their first child Albert was born 1859/1860 in Bates Co. MO. In 1860 living in Polk, Co, MO was Jeremiah Chambers ( Hugh B's brother) with his family was a Nancy Dowell, blind, age 45, born NC. 1870, Nancy Dowell was living with Hugh B. Chambers. In 1850 Nancy Dowell was living with Elijah Mitchell. I believe the wife of Elijah was Jane Dowell Mitchell. Also living there was a Sarah Dowell. My question is, do you know of a Dowell family that had 3 daughters Sarah, Nancy, Jane and ? that could have been my Lucinda's mother? HELP! ThanK you!! Sharon
