I included a postcard in my very first post at my blog A CANADIAN FAMILY.
I have Acadian/French Canadian/Channel Islands heritage (and my husband is Italian) so I couldn't find a postcard to portray all that.
In the end I shared a Gaspesian postcard of a dog cart and children.
If I were starting my blog today I would look for a postcard of the world!

On Trace your Dutch roots (a blog about Dutch genealogy) I recently started a postcard series. I don't remember posting postcards on this blog before.

The first postcards on my new Roots blog were two cards of kids playing with hoops, posted for the Festival of Postcards. My grandfather received these cards from his father in the early 1920s.
The first postcard I posted at my blog, "CanadaGenealogy, or, Jane's Your Aunt" was a postcard showing a photograph taken at Newdale, Manitoba, Canada about 1911, showing a group of local showshoed women, including my grandmother, my 'Na'. My Na had identified everyone for me and I included that info in the post. The local photographer's sign is quite prominent, so I believe it's safe to say that he took the photo!

This was in a post called: Christmas Time Fun for the 2007 Advent Calendar of Christmas Memories (December 22, 2007).
The first postcard I used on Genealogy Traces was a submission for Postcard Friendship Friday, hosted by Marie Reed, author of Cpaphil Vintage Postcards. The name of my post on 27 March 2009 was Six Flags have Flown over Texas.

The postcard showing the Texas state capitol building with the six flags Texas has flown under superimposed on the Texas seal above the dome of the capitol was purchased by me in 1960 in Austin. I sent it home with a note on the back to my grandparents, James Dolphus "Doc" Gailey and Edna Puckett Gailey and my youngest sister, Ann.

Since I had been blogging about my Richards ancestors being involved in the Texas Revolution, I thought it was a perfect postcard for my very first submission to the Festival.
