I have used Legacy for several years and having tried many others, LEGACY is still the best, but it does take some effort to learn all the things that it can do, but that is what makes it so great.... I use the Deluxe version, the cost is bargain for all the features you get.

I have a question about the feature where you look up a city, county, State, [ Geo location Database ] This feature along is worth the cost of the Deluxe Version.
Question: Is it possible to have all counties show up with "Co." after the County Name? If I use just the County and State, later I do not know if the two names are City and State or County and State, example:

Wichita, Sedgwick, Kansas, USA

***** Sedgwick, Kansas, USA ******

Their is a Sedgwick, Harvey Co., KS, USA, but looking at just Sedgwick, KS, USA, one does not know if is the city of Sedgwick or the county of Sedgwick. If all Counties were listed with "Co." after the name then one would know for sure. I personally change everyone after I look up the county, I have to add "Co." after the name. Couldn't they add another option where I could have Legacy add "Co." after every County? Thanks for any suggestions.

Joyce/Shaum/Rehberg - Volume 1 of the Legacy training videos was actually rescripted and republished for Legacy 7. Since version 7 introduced the SourceWriter, the updated Legacy's Ultimate Guide to Sources CD is especially helpful as it thoroughly explains the new SourceWriter. Most of the CDs that you have are probably still okay. We also added a brand new video entitled Mastering Legacy: Names, Dates, and Places. This was not in the series you previously purchased. Hope this helps some....

Hello, I started using Legacy 6 a couple years ago. At that time I also purchased the Legacy Family Tree Video Training Series - Vol. 1. I have to admit I never really mastered sources and notes. My question is; will these lessons still work with Legacy 7?

Hi from Australia...I started using genealogy software many years ago and published an Australian branch of an English-based family back in 1993. I wish I had Legacy back then when I was trying to do this. Love this product.

I think the only way would be to download a gedcom [if possible] from Ancestry and open it up in Legacy.

Is there a way to convert a family tree done on Ancestry.com to Legacy?

Evelyn - you are adding pictures from a part of your hard-drive that LEGACY has not been told about. So it cannot find the picture. Easiest thing is to put a COPY of every picture you want in LEGACY in the C:/Legacy/Pictures folder. Another way is to tell legacy where to look for your pictures. (OPTIONS-CUSTOMIZE-LOCATIONS TAB). You can also test the pictures in Legacy to see which ones it has lost track of... ENJOY!

My only problem with Legacy is that when I enter a picture is looks great on the computer and with some of them I go back a later and in the place of the picture is a white question mark on a blue background and no picture. What have I done wrong? Evelyn

Nice to see some faces to go along with the names for the Legacy Users' Group. Legacy is the greatest!

I would like to know if there is anyone out there who has had their genealogy pedigree tree printed by Legacy and if they were satisfied with the results. Any comments? Personally, I love Legacy and it prints out some really nice PDF reports.
