I would like to be able to search the groups individually. For instance, I'd like to search the Brick Wall group for the surname Graham to see if anyone else is butting their head up against this particular brick wall.

OK, I found it. It's a drop-down link in the menu...I was looking for it somewhere on the Groups page -- like next to All Groups and My Groups.

I just received a GenWise newsletter saying that the Surname Groups are indexed. I clicked on Groups like the newsletter said, and didn't see the Surnames link that the newsletter said would be there. What am I missing?

Unless I'm misunderstanding Jennifer, you're asking for a Select All and Select None option.

At the bottom of the selection window, you can select:
  • All Friends (if you are a member of another Ning network, and signed up using the same email address, it will invite those other friends too).
  • Friends on this Network (just friends on GW)
  • None (to deselect everyone on the list)

Also note that people already a member of the group will be grayed-out and unchecked.

Is this what you were looking for?

I would like to see in the invite section for groups, when inviting friends on GW to join a group, not to have all friends previously selected. I would like to go through the group and add friends, not have to remove friends from the invite. When you have over 100+ friends, removing friends to add becomes tedious. Maybe a select all button or deselect all would be appropriate.

Hmmm. Well I'm outta ideas at the moment.

If you have it as an option I might recommend trying from a different internet browser (if you are using Internet Explorer, then try Firefox, or visa-versa).

I've cropped both pictures down (Picassa) and they are 160x160 pixels (thumbnail) for the first one and 136x160 pixels (thumbnail) for the other one. Both give jpeg quality as 98 (422). Thanks for the help.

LOL; AOL could be doing all kinds of rogue things. Its not a large picture is it? GW has a 10 megabyte limit. If you have some picture editing software, I would recommend resizing/cropping the picture down to about 250x250 pixels, and give that a try.

Sorry, Johnny. It did not work. I had tried resaving under a different name before but had no luck, but tried again. I have even tried a "less favored" picture and it does not work. Not too upset about not having picture out there, but would have liked to been able to do it. Another time maybe. Could it be AOL blocking it?

Thanks, Johnny. I will try that.
