A video showing Robert Matthewson's grave at Bapaume Military Cemetery near Albert.

Robert was killed 1July 1916 in the battle of the Somme.

Heartfelt thanks to all the hardworking ground staff for keeping the grave sites so immaculate.

The first tune in the video is my arrangement, using GarageBand and Band in a Box, of Blaydon Races, the quick march of the Northumberland Fusiliers. Robert was in the Tyneside Irish Brigade of the Northumberland's so I thought an Irish jig quick march tempo would be appropriate.

The second tune I wrote in memory of both Robert and his wife Meggy. I started writing this tune 30 odd years ago and only finished it a few years back.
