I am new to genealogy research and seeking help from others.

i am interested in learning the correct (or best) way to find useful information. By useful, I suppose I am interested in finding information that pertains to my specific needs, which is finding information relating to my Birth Mother, and biological brothers and sisters.

I have reconciled myself to the fact that, due to the laws in New York State, I am only entitled to receive specific information about myself, but I am happy with anything, which is better than the limited information I now have.

So, come on folks, offer your suggestions, give me your favorite placed to get information, and teach me the best way to gather information, please.
