My husband's a funeral director here in Cooper and he gets that all the time, Sherry because of the Hobbs families in the area. We're kinda used to it. ;)

I haven't been on here much either. Sherry. I guess that's why I didn't notice your query. From what I've been able to put together, my husband's Hobbs family was in VA > TN > IIL. He's a descendant of Vincent Hobbs > Thomas Hobbs > Joel Hobbs who migrated to IL from TN > Thomas Hobbs > Isaac Newton Hobbs > Wallace Hobbs (his dad).

Sherry, I didn't get notification of this message when you posted it.
I don't know how the Hobbs in this area (Lamar and Delta Counties) fit into my husband's Hobbs line. He was born and raised in Southern Illinois - the fourth generation of Hobbs's living there. I will keep an eye out though to see if there are connections further back.
