I guess I just needed to post my vent in order to find my missing Mathieu. He was born July 4 1807 to the parents I suspected him with. I am just so happy ya'll don't know!

Searching and not finding

Posted on July 25, 2009 at 4:25pm 0 Comments

I have looked through all the Drouins for St Ours for the 1810 time frame and have not come across any Michel Mathieu. I did find a Michel Mathieu born in 1810 in Yamaska which is 30 miles from St Ours and one born in 1805 in St Ours. I am hoping to obtain a copy of his death certificate soon so that I can see it for myself to verify dates and who gave the information.

My first blog

I have never blogged before but have been a stalker on many sites. I am hoping to use this blog as an accountability tool for my own research. My goals for this summer are to find proof one way or the other that my husband's Mathieu ancestor Michel Mathieu, who came to the US from Canada in the 1860s is descended from Joseph Mathieu and Marie Papillon. I have heard that his parents are listed on his death certificate, but would like to find other more direct sources.

Hi there, my name is Jenn and I’m from a group called the Closet Skeleton Genealogical Society. We’re wondering if we might have a link in trees, I saw your name come up on the Canadian group and I couldn’t help but ask. We have a Bentley Rountree Tillery, born about 1876 in Hickory County, Missouri to parents Mary Ann Lenox and Andrew Jackson Tillery. We’re assuming both Bentley and Rountree are family names but so far we’re lacking any further connection. If any of this sound familiar we’d love to hear back from you!

Hello Randi !
Surname Washenko, in polish transcription: Waszenko (read: "Vah-shen-ko"), is typical Bielarussian surname. Andrew spoke only Russian. It's normal in Bielarussian country. -- Polish formerly eastern-country "Kresy" ?. Andrzej and Anna it's are very polish names. Do You can ?. Hm... Interesed !. I aid to You with Your tracing of Your family tree in Poland and in Bielarus. I have in my Silesian Genealogical Association in Wroclaw (and in whole Poland) many friends-genealogist's specialized in Bielarussian researching of persons and surnames from formerly Polish "Kresy's". Best regards from Poland !
