Hi Lynn! I am beginning to make preparations for my trip next summer. Will be requesting some aid from my Department here at the University (UNC-Asheville) where I teach Spanish.

I will be looking for good, clean, but inexpensive lodging in Astorga. Would you have anything to recommend?

By the way, as a token of my gratitude, I would like to send you a copy of a book I published last year --Caleidoscopio de una familia puertorriqueña-- partially based on my genealogical research. Would you send me your address to my email: psandin@unca.edu.

Thank you again!

Pedro

Hi Lynn!

It's been four years since I contacted you and you offered invaluable information on genealogical research in Zamora. I had planned to travel in 2011, but have had to postpone my trip for many reasons. I am now planning for a summer 2015 trip!

Apart from the diocesan archive, what other historical archives should I visit once in Zamora? Would you have any other recommendations to make?

Thank you, so much!

Pedro

Hello, I am so happy to have found this blog. I am very new to the gwise link. How can I find information about "rancheria" Buena Vista (near Panuco Mexico) and what were the living conditions there during 1899-1920? I can't find names of indian tribe living there. Can you help me?

Thank you so much for your quick and generous response!! Yes, my great-grand-father came from a tiny town called Santa María de Valverde, not too far from Benavente. We visited the town in 2000, and I very much doubt that they would have their records there.

I look forward to any help you might be able to provide!

Hi! I'm from Puerto Rico, now living in Asheville, North Carolina. I've been doing genealogical research for several years, mostly based on parish archives on the island, online resources and historical archives in Puerto Rico. I am planning to go to Spain in the summer of 2011 and spend a week researching my ancestors in Zamora. Where should I begin in order to prepare for my trip?

Thank you!!!

Sure, I don't think that will be a problem.
