It doesn't seem like you have used this website for a while but i hope you pick up this message and reply. I have ben researching my Halliday's for several years and have built up quite a comprehensive document of over 200 Hallidays decending from Nineon Holiday born about 1680 in Wamphray parish, Dumfreisshire, Scotland. I believe you are also decended from Nineon as your great grandfather Christopher who died when the Empress of Ireland collided with the Storstad in 1914 is in my document.
You may have gone back to James Halliday, farmer in Panlands who was Nineon's son. Please get in touch as it would be great to compare records.
Christopher, I am wondering if we are related.My gr-gr granparents came from moffat, and settled in the oakburn/vista area. I know that there were 10 children 2 boys died younger in life. Who are your grandparents?
