Thanks Peter. I took the next level DNA test also but only had two matches. They were a father and son in Germany who had come from Switzerland.

Hi Peter, thanks for the invite. I have set up a page and we'll see what happens. Already have about a dozen members looking for their roots, so who knows. Bet I won't find too many "G-men" there like us! Take care.

Thanks for your note. I will join haplogrop_g on genealogywise. I thought I did already.
I am on facebook and I know there are a lot of people and many relatives that I already have in my Family Tree database. I hope I will find what I want.
I have now 67 markers and hope other will test for more.
Best regards Ralph

Hi Peter
I am on facebook but as my facebook is a bizarre random place where myself and eldest grandaughter and daughters and numerous wierd friends keep in touch. I'll decline the facebook offer. But will keep in touch with the G group.

Hi Peter, thanks for the welcome. Yes I had a 33 marked test done through Ancestry. Their results have me as G2a. With the German sir name, Hoover, I'm more confused than ever. I'm hoping I can learn more about my recent ancestors.

Thanks Peter,
I hope you will be as successful in achieving that perfect match.
My newly found first cousin has other designations listed. I am assuming that it is because he had more testing. (M201, P15.) I am also assuming that designation fits me as well
I will check out the public page and attempt learn a bit more about my category.

Hi Peter,
Glad to join any Genealogy oriented group, as I have found valuable information from various sites and forums when researching my family history. The FTDNA project was instrumental in finding a perfect 12 marker match to a first cousin. He is the son to a long lost uncle who I never knew, He was adopted and never knew his real father. It was rewarding experience. Although I must confess that the DNA terminology and science is like Japanese to me. I only know that I am in Group G and nothing more.

Happy to join. But there are so many groups, that one can't keep up. But let's try.

Yes, I'm on Facebook. But I don't add many friends. I prefer to keep it to my tightly knit circle... I'll join the haplogroup as mentioned.
