Thanks for the birthday wish, September!
I know Henniker very well...lived in Nashua before moving to Florida. Graduated from UMass (Amherst then Boston); actually lived in New England for 27 years. The world gets smaller every day.

Thanks for the info. It really helps. I didn't have an exact birthdate. Now I can look into Alois and his wife. Again thank you.

Hi September...
Although the bulk of my research is the Stiles family from New England, I do have information about the Sampson family as they are "intertwined" in NH, and MA. I will gladly share what I have!

My direct line is John Martin b. abt. 1763 in Hanover, Grafton County, New Hampshire & Eunice Jennison b. about 1769 in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. That is where I stop on my Martins so far. Other lines do better.

I used to live in Quechee, VT. I used to go to auctions in Plainfield and at one auction, items from George Colby's estate came up. I bid on and won his journals. They run from 1900 to 1946. I don't have all of them. They are interesting. He was into genealogy and was a contributer to the big Hardy / Hardee genealogy. One of these days I am going to transcribe the journals. I always wanted to be a procrastinator but never got around to it. Henniker does have a historical society.

Thanks a lot! I think I have both of those sites bookmarked, I will probably have to go to Boston, now, too! lol There's so much to do, it's more of a job than a hobby!

Hi, September. Well, I checked the CD and found that it doesn't contain any records for Webster, after all. Oh, well.

Hi, September. Sorry, I don't have any Bugbees in my database and no Clarence Bates, either. I do, however, have some Bateses in Webster: Lucinda Bates, who was born there in 1825 to Nelson Bates and Lucia Jacobs.

Meanwhile, I have a CD-ROM containing PDFs of many Massachusetts genealogy books, including vital records. I could do a search of it for you and see what turns up.
