Hi Betty Jo..My Blevins line is from James and Hannah..down through Riley Blevins and Mary(Boggs) Blevins..John and Charlotte(Brown) Blevins..and my grandparents James and Pearl(Parker) Blevins of southern Ohio..Lyon, Boggs, Grizzle, Parker, Brown--I also research these and others, too, as they are my lines..
All of NC was full of Blevins, especially Buncomb & Ashe Co's, as are counties in N E TN. Hardin & family reportedly went into TN via flatbed boat singing, dancing & drinking. His brother David was supposedly much more reserved. I love that story. One thing for sure, the Blevins enjoy good long lives. A daughter of David Crockett Blevins, brother of Ruth Jane, lived to 101.
Betty Jo, Who is you earliest known Blevins ancestor? Mine is William born1700
to 1720, who was father of David & Hardin. My direct line is through Hardin 1777-1860, his son John Wilson 1806-1887, Ruth Jance Vance Blevins 1831-1915 who married Samuel Henry Howell 1829-1876). I have photos of Ruth , my Dad's grandother. Am excited to connect with you. Hope to hear from you. Should you want to contact me direct, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.
