Hi - I logged into the chat roomafter you all had left. I host a couple of chats here. I do a Pennsylvania chat on Sunday nights at 9 pm eastern. I try to find a subject of interest and do some research on it and do a 15-20 minute talk. No chat on April 4th because of Easter. During April I will be doing a chat about St Anthony's Wilderness and on on the Chain of Forts in PA. Starting the first Tuesday at 10 pm eastern and continuing on each Tuesday afterwards I will be doing stories about New England based on tales by Edward Rowe Snow. He wrote about folklore, pirates, treasure, shipwrecks and interesting people, places and events. Hope to see you there if that interests you. I used to host a Paranormal chat, but my friend Carol Leve is taking that over.

Thank you for inviting me to join your site. It looks very interesting and I am sure I will enjoy it. I am the president of Puget Sound Genealogical Society. Right now we are looking for speakers for next year and planning our seminar for 2010. Looking forward to hearing and seeing what you are doing.

Hi Miriam, welcome to the Frisian Genealogy site. I see that you are researching the surname "Sweers", that was a name I often came across when we lived in Ostfriesland, Germany. My sister, who still lives in Germany, is actually married to a Sweers.

Dear Miriam
Thank you for the information on Mary B. Kehoe. It is certainly a feast or a famine. I also heard from the Register of Wills, Clerk of the Probate Division, Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Washington D.C., now that is a title. They have found Mary in their records and are currently accessing the offsite files and are processing my request for copies of her probate file. I can't wait to get them.

Hello Miriam, Thank you for the "invite" to this site. It looks to be very promising.
I recently came across the site: http://opengen.net/ It has a very nice interactive map of the United States as well as links to each state in index form. Lots of information for free.

See you at the Conference!

Just to say Hi and say that I grew up in Spokane - Graduated from NC in 63 and Eastern in 67. Family names in Spokane area are Meyers, Neumann (Maternal) - they settled [maybe homesteaded] in Dartford north of Spokane. My GGGrand other was on the founding board of the Dartford Cemetery and many ancesters are buried there. The Meyers (maternal GFather) was from PA. Carnahan family from MO. Andy

Thanks for the invites Miriam. I don't have any lineage in the Spokane area; but would enjoy getting involved with some genealogy buffs in the area. I'll put the September event on my calendar, and keep it in mind as it gets closer.

Well Miriam, it appears you have been a trail blazer here. It is fascinating to watch this grow tonight. I can't wait to come to Spokane. It will be great to meet you. If you need anything on that let me know. And I'd be honored if you would join the Generation Maps fans group. Thanks.

My CLEVELAND ancestors lived in Athens county, Ohio. I was able to find them in The Genealogy of the Cleveland and Cleaveland Families on Ancestry. That's the only reason that I even have CLEVELAND ancestors. Found my WASHBURN family in the book first.
