No, we had snow but most of it is gone now. I have a wedding next weekend. My daughter is getting married. I will check out a few things here though and see if I can find out anything for you.

Give me some particulars and I will see if I can find out anything. I cannot go to Moose Jaw at least now. Have a wedding coming up and in the winter roads can get nasty here.

Do you know which cemetery they are in?

It takes close to four and a half hours from here to Moose Jaw. Are you searching for family in Moose Jaw?

Clarence Edwin Titus in "A Titus Genealogy: The Direct Line of Descent of Titus Syrach De Vries" wrote:
"Under English rule in America it became compulsory to take a permanent surname. Since the Dutch traditionally used the patronymic naming system (identification by the father's given name), the children and descendants of Titus and Jannetje adopted and kept the surname Titus."

From "The Dutch Titus Family" by Frank H. Titus (notes)
Immigrated to this country at an early date. Part owner of gristmill operated by horsepower in New Utrecht in 1660. He was Lieut. of an Infantry Co. of Flatbush in 1673, and was probably promoted as he is also styled "Captain" . That he was probably of the noble De Vrie family of Holland is indicated not only by his name, which should have been Titus Syrachs simply had he been of the commonality, but more suggestively tht some of his children were at least baptised as Tryntje Titus DeVries , Syrach Titus De Vries, etc

I have a file on Titus will have to look for it this week

Maggie, will see what I can get for you on the Sabourin family. Have limited time due to a little one, but should be able to send you something. Do you have an email I could send some screen shots to?

Thanks Maggie, All of the Forsyths have lived in Ontario since emigrating from Ireland between 1844 and 1851. I have't done enough research in Ireland to know if any of the descendants of the siblings of the immigrant ancestor who stayed in Ireland moved elsewhere, such as the U.S.

Yes, it's my understanding that the original immigrants, and probably the ancestors of most of the Hagamans, Hagermans, Hagemans and Hegemans in the United States were Adriaen Hegeman and Catherine Margrits. We've traced our family line back to them, though now we've started the Hagaman Family Project on Family Tree DNA to see if we can get DNA matches on the male Y-DNA among those who have documented their ancestory back to Adreaen and Catherine Margrits. We're also starting a new web site at www.Hagaman.net. It's just a shell right now, but we'll have it up and going ASAP.

My Cobb's are from S. Jersey. Washington Twp., Burlington County (at least in their latter lives). Thomas Cobb 1762-1841 - I believe was in the Rev War as a Continental Soldier - a member of the "Jersey Blues"- Thomas may have been from a bit further North when he was born and served in the Rev. I haven't proved that service yet, but will soon. Thomas had a son Constant that married Deborah Ford. Deb is dau. of Stephen Ford - Stephen is my gggg-grandfather and fought in the Rev. War. I also have William Cobb - 1805. They may be related, not sure yet.

New York City/Brooklyn. Our direct ancestor Edwin Dyer actually assumed his stepfather, James Dyer's, surname. His father's name was Durain or Dureign. Edwin was born about 1837 in either New York City or Brooklyn (we have conflicting info here), and he was a police captain in Brooklyn. He married Margaret Dooner, who was born in Ireland.
