Hi Michelle, Thank you for your email. It was so good to hear from you. I live in Wingham, about 4hours north of Sydney. My Father was born in Port Pirie, but moved to Leeton N.S.W. where he met my Mum.
I thought Robert was born in Germany, but it seems he was born in England. He was convicted of some crime & was sentenced to 7 years in Tasmania. He was on the ship "Royal George" arriving on 16/10/1830. He was convict no.1198. After his ticket of leave he arrived in South Australia in 1838.
You may know this information, I am trying to find out more about the English heritage. We are hoping to come to South Australia sometime. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Roma.
i, My Gt.Gt.grandfather was Robert Shueard & have just discovered he may have been a convict in Tasmania, but can,t get much more. My grandmother was Olive Staple, my Father being Arthur Maurice Atkins. If you have any information I would be very grateful. With thanks, Roma Lenton.
