Hi Debbie, I am now set up in genealogywise. Incidentally, my Belcher and Taylor great grandparents on my mother's mother's side are from Berkshire (I know the Belchers are from Goosey). Does the Devon group include Berkshire? I'm sorry but I know little of England. Best wishes, Vance
My comrad Vic the Vicar is hanging out at Cambridge this week....hope he does not bring back the UK flu!!
Would the idea be to "attract" Crewe surname cousins?? If so, a good idea! But, I don't know the process for setting up a site. I sent a note to a man involved in the Cheshire Historical Society---to ask for assistance in contacting some living Crewe persons---particularly males!
I had two female Crewses from this site send me a friend invite, but no reply back from them?! One is in Canton, Georgia, just south of Blue Ridge---where I work with the hospice. The other---not sure where she lives. I thought that we might compare our family lines.
Still looking for John's (1725) daddy! I wonder if my Crewe person came directly into the Charleston, SC, port? I am amazed at what has happened in two years--since I made my initial journey to Cruwys Morchard.
I have friends in Shropshire now---a base for looking around the Cheshire area for Crewe cousins!!
One of my main names is SMART. my closest relatives are in Liverpool but they where originally from Angus, Scotland. I have them back till c1580 and Gilbert Smart. Are yours from North or South?
It seems that my Westcott's are descended from Stukely who according to what I have seen online emigrated to America from Somersetshire, England in the 1600's.
By the way I lived in Cambrigeshire from 1980 to 1982, I sure miss it, but I imagine it has changed a lot since then.
OOPs sorry about that. I thought I was checking but must of over looked. I am very much interested in the Couch line. My Couch married into the Jahner line. But my mistake, yes I will delete that Couch and enter into your couch if that is ok.
