Vallowe family of Venne, Lower Saxony, Germany

Does anyone has information on the families from Venne, Germany. Some emigrated to America in the 1850's, I am specifically looking for data on the Friedrich Conrad Vallowe family.  Anything would be helpful on the families of Venne.

Hi Wayne - I am new to this, so I may be sending the same message a second time.  Anyway - I am a great, great granddaughter of Freidrich.  My grand mother (Clara Vallowe) was raised by Johanna Slater, her aunt.  Aunt Hannah kept in touch with the German relatives over the years, and in the 1970s, her granddaughter and a great grandaughter of Gerhard Wilhelm (Friedrichs brother) still in Germany began a family genealogy.  they went back 5 generations before Friedrich and have some information on Dorothea.  I visited Venne last year and met Wilhelm and Hannelore Vallowe who are the current owners of the Stammhaus (they lift next door, have restored the old homestead.)  So, I can probably help you with a lot of information.  Best thing might be for me to scan the genealogy and send it to you.  Which of Friedrich's son's are you related to?

Udo Thörner's 2008 book Venne in America: The Historical Account of the Emigration from a Lower Saxony Village in Germany to the Americas in the 19th Century. includes Friedrich Conrad Vallowe (b 21/11/1841) spouse: Langkamp, Regine Dorothea (b 11/4/1845) immigrated to Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co, PA in 186;  Vallowe, Gerd Heinrich (b 16/8/1815) spouse: Rittmann, anne Marie Engel (b 21/8/1818) immigrated to Jonesville/Wayne Twp. Bartholomew Co,, IN in 1839;  Gerhard Heinrich Vallowe (b 3/10/1837 Spouse: Schwarze, Anne Marie Elisabeth (b 2/3/1840) immigrated to Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA in 1853.

In the chapter on settlement of White Creek, Indiana, Udo writes in detail of the Gerd Heinrich Vallowe family (1815-1844) , p 136. In the chapter on Pittsburg, he writes in detail again on the immigration of the Friedrich Conrad Vallowe (1841-1909) family p 81. He writes extensively in the book on reasons for immigration from Venne. I have found it invaluable for Venne genealogists! You can order the book for $32, incl postage from Hamilton County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 15865, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.

Hope this helps.
