Simon Drock and Lot Little 1790 census New Hampshire

While doing some research for the 1790 Census: Slave Holders, Other Free Persons and Slaves website I found a couple of wonderful sites containing great information for a Simon Drock and Lot Little of New Hampshire.

Simon Drock was living in Newport, Cheshire County, NH in the 1790 census. Simon Drock, born about 1760 was the son of a Negro slave by the name of Guy Drock. Guy was the slave of Captain Benajah Bushnell in Norwich, New London County, Connecticul and Simon eventually moved to Newport from Norwich around 1788.

Lot Little was living in Sutton, Hillsborough County, NH in the 1790 census. The census shows that Lot was a free white man with 2 free white woman, however Lott was a mulatto and former slave.

Two of Simon Drock's children, Sabrina and Simon married into the Little family.

The following websites have much more info on the Drock and Little families:

The Lost Family by Daryl Y. (Hooper) Holmes

Drock Descendants by Donald W.L. Roddy This site has a FREE download of the Drock Descendants (51 pages - 9.11MB)

The 1790Census: Slave Holders, Other Free Persons and Slaves is a work in progress and have put up the New Hampshire and Vermont census to date.

If anyone is interested in possibly doing any other states, whether whole or in part can download any or all of the following states at

http://www.census.gov/prod/www/abs/decennial/1790.htm

The states are: Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, and Virginia Can be downloaded in PDF format or in a zip file. Files are very large so a fast connection is recommended.

The format used for inputting the information that I used is an excel spreadsheet that I downloaded a few years back online, but don't have that link right now, but should be able to send the spreadsheet to anyone interested by email.
