I am not as familiar with the Nova Scotia lines and have referred your question to someone whom I think can shed some light on this for you Cheryl.  Thanks so much for your information!

Hi Pat. I have an indirect connection. My 2GGM was Esther Taylor Farnell (b. 1834 NS) and her grandmother was Elizabeth Taylor Fisher (b. 1773 in Truro, NS, of John Fisher of William Fisher). Families in this area tend to carry surnames down as middle names, but I cannot find a "Taylor" ancestor in my line. As close as I can calculate, she may have been named after John's aunt, Elizabeth (Archibald) Taylor, his mother (Eleanor Archibald)'s sister. Elizabeth (wife of Matthew Taylor) & Eleanor (wife of William Fisher) were 2 of the 7 Archibald siblings who were planters at the founding of Truro, NS. Matthew & Elizabeth Taylor also had a daughter, Elizabeth (b. 1769). Do you know of any other possible reason "Taylor" would be carried down this line?

The Taylor Family Reunion will take place in Derry, New Hampshire on
the 29th, 30th and 31st. of July, 2011. It will be held in the Upper Village Hall
located at: 54 East Derry Road, across the road from the Taylor Library
and the First Parish Congregational Church.

We chose the Upper Village Hall for two reasons:
1) its location
2) it is an old building, built in 1876, that became vacant in 2005.

It was ear marked for demolition until the East Derry Village Improvement
Society, took the opportunity to preserve it last year. Renovations have
steadily been on going, with lots to do. It will be interesting to see the
improvements that have been completed since we visited in April 2010.

We felt the age of the building would add to the theme of commemorating
our ancestors, and also was the home of the Taylor Library until 1930.

Should you have any questions, concerns or suggestions for the reunion
Please contact either Betty or Heather at the following addresses: bettyandmoeaube@sympatico.ca and
scharlesfacey@ns.sympatico.ca

Your help would be greatly appreciated if you would forward this
announcement on to other family members that we might not have
an email or snail mail address for. Let’s get the word out, to have as many
descendants attend as possible.

Reminder to:
1) check out our website for updates at:
www.taylorfamilyreunion2011.myevent.com
2) a passport is required to enter the United States.
3) The Canadian currency exchange rate is almost at par,

I saw that blog Heather and passed it on to several other Taylors from this line. We are still trying to figure out who Matthew's parents were. Betty Aube and Heather Taylor Facey are actually making a trip to Derry, NH on April 6, 2010, to figure out the details of having a Taylor family reunion to be held next year in July or August. I wonder if you would have some suggestions for them.
