Looking for Sandercocks
My main genealogical activity in the last couple of weeks has been chasing up our Sandercock - Saundercock families. I've just blogged about the earliest ancestors, William Sandercock and Mary Verran, with a picture of their tombstone in Cardinham churchyard in Cornwall, England, over on our main family history blog.
I started a new genealogy database file where I've tried to link up all the Sandercocks I can find. Most of them are from Decon and Cornwall. Our earliest ones are from Cardinham, on the south-western end of Bodmin Moor, but there is another Sandercock family from St Gennys, on the north-eastern side. Perhaps we'll eventually find a common ancestor for these families.

My husband is a Sandercock descendant. His line (briefly) is
John Sandercock of St. Genny's, Cornwall, England and wife Mary Marshall
George Sandercock 1793-1852 St Genny's and wife Elizabeth Marshall
George Thomas Sandercock 1822-1899 born St Genny's died Thornbury Devon and wife Fanny Joll
Sam (J. Samuel) Sandercock 1870 Cornwall - 1949 Ontario Canada. Sam immigrated from England to Ontario in May 1887. The family eventually changed their name to SANDERCOTT.
His brother George Thomas Sandercock also immigrated but ended up in Manitoba Canada where he died in 1919, also another brother John went to Manitoba and died there in 1922.
Some of Sam's siblings stayed in England, others came to Canada. We have much more detailed and sourced information if you are interested, but it is not online
