I will try to explain this best way I know how so you can help me if you can after you read my post.  I am confused and sure hope I don't make you confused along the way.

  • My grandmother, Martha Ann Russell was  born 10 March 1931 in La Junta, Colorado.Source: Baby Book in her mothers writing and her obit
  • On 2 June 1949 she graduated Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction,  Colorado. Source High School Commencement
  • On 2 September 1949 she married Ammon Kay Higdon.  Source Family Bible
  • On 8 October 1950 she gave birth to her one and only child (still living).  Source birth cert of said child
  • On June 7, 1951 Martha and Ammon enter a Real Estate Contract in Independence, Missouri (bought the real estate).  Source 1 Real Estate Contract
  • On June 14, 1951 Martha, Ammon and child were living in Missouri.  Source 1 deed of trust and 1 warranty deed
  • On April 25, 1953 Martha and Ammon enter a Real Estate Contract in Independence, Missouri (Sold the real estate).  Source 1 Real Estate Contract
  • On May 25, 1953 Martha has a warehouse receipt to store her furniture in Kansas City, Missouri. (She is still a HIGDON at this point).   Source Warehouse Receipt
  • On 25 August 1953 Martha Married Joe Bo Hannen from Butte Montana in New Mexico. Source Martha's and Joe's Obits.
  • On November 12, 1953 Martha and a man named Samuel Robinson entered a Real Estate Contract in Polk County, Iowa.  She is listed and signed her name as Martha Ann Robinson. Source Real Estate Contract
  • She was married to a Robinson for a lil while just do not know when as she had her SSCard switched to Martha Ann Robinson and it was sent to her address in Des Moines, Iowa.  When she passed away her SS# was listed under Bo Hannen ..... so her number had not changed.
  • In 1955 Joe Bo Hannen filed 1954 taxes and claimed Martha and child.  The child was claimed for 1 full year and listed as his step-daughter.  Source 1954 Federal Income Tax Return AND 1954 Colorado State Income Tax Return
  • December 13, 1958, Martha, Joe and Child were living in Lafayette, Indiana. Source Sears, Roebuck & Co Credit Card Receipt
  • I do not know for sure when they moved to Templeton, Indiana but the child graduated high school in 1968 in Oxford, Indiana,  Source High School Diploma
  • January 16, 1973 Joe Bo Hannen passed away.  Source Obit.
  • April 7, 1997 Martha Ann Bo Hannen passed away.  Source Obit and Death Cert

Okay here is my problem ...if Martha married Joe in August 1953 how can she married to Samuel Robinson in November 1953?  And in 1954 be a Bo Hannen again?  Personally, I think (but can not prove) that Joe and Samuel is the same person.  Anyone have any thoughts and ideas to share with me??
