History of the United States Flag

  Flag History for the United States was presented at our local meeting yesterday.

  It started way back  during the Crusades the beginning of our flag. It was designed, changed, redesigned and altered and changed more until we got to the British and the Scot's mingling it together.  Yes, they did.

  It was brought to this country after more mingling and need of a flag separate from Britian. A standard was needed to show the colonies.

War of 1812 update James H. Fuller

James FULLER, Margaret Fuller's father fought in the War of 1812 from Guernsey Co. Ohio.  He was born in Maryland, in 30 Jan 1769 and moved to Ohio when Margaret was young prior to this war. He married 1797 in  Maryland. 

He dies on 30 Jan 1842 Peoria, Illinois, USA. I have picture of his tombstone. 



Margaret was born in Washington Co. Maryland 16 May 1801. 

His children were :

War of 1812 Some Potential on Dad's side

Now on to Dad's side of family: NOEL JONES listed in 1810 census with wife and son Noyes, is never seen again did he serve and is lost forever? What about any of Susan MADISON's family did they serve? What about Alfred and Addison JOHNSON's line? The BARTLETT line, the SWEET families, HAMMOND families, HAMMETT families what about them?

Remember the Boundaries and Place Name Changes, SW Pennsylvania and NW Virginia.

Long ago, this land was all Virginia territory. Then the changes were forced on the people living there, by the encroachment of the people brought in by PENN.

In retrospect I can understand their duress. Virginia law was lower taxes, better government, different church laws, many different aspects to their living in peace verses the laws of the new area of Pennsylvania by Penn.
