Possibly my great-great-grandparents?

This photo is in a frame and was found among my great-grandfather's (Janos Peto) belongings.  Possibly his parents?

Photos of Janos Peto, my great grandfather

This is my great grandfather, Janos (John) Peto sometime in the late 1960s early 1970s.  Not sure who the baby is though.

This is him in the 1950s I think....looking like a movie gangster. :)…

Szilagyi family research

My great-great-grandmother was Elizabeth Szilagyi, she was born 11 Feb 1853 (according to the obituary found in a Michigan newspaper).  Her parents were listed on her death certificate as Teme Szilagyi and Ersebet Cauka.  Elizabeth married Sgimond or Zsigmond Bertalan between 1872 and 1874 (census gives her age of first marriage as 20)  in Hungary.  Zsigmond died before 1910 because on the ship record for their son Imre, he lists his mother, the widow Zsigmond…

Here's another photo from my grandmother's house.  I believe these people where somehow related to my great-grandparents Janos Peto and Esther Liska or maybe just friends.

Elizabeth Szilagyi Bertalan and her sons and grandchildren

This photo is of my great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Szilagyi Bertalan and on the far left is my great-grandfather (Emery Bertalan).  The man next to him I now believe to be his brother Louis Bertalan.  The very tall young man in the rear and the girl in front of him are probably his (Louis') children.  The young boy in the front and the two younger girls are my great-grandfather's children from his second marriage...my grandfather's half-siblings.…

Unknown Hungarian relative: Picture of the week 6/15/14

This is Frank Mattes a photographer in Philadelphia, PA.  He was born 14 Jul 1881 in Vesprod, Bacs-Bodrog, Hungary,  he came to the US in 1906 and was naturalized in 1914.  He married Magdalena "Lena" Teufel and they had a son names Frank Jr who was born in 1912 but died in 1915, and a daughter Anna Helen Mattes, born in 24 Jan 1917 who was still single and living at home in 1940.  The last record I have found on Frank is his 1942 WWII draft card and he…

Picture may be of my great-grandmother

The woman in the middle of this picture may be Ester Stella Liska Peto....my great-grandma.  On the back, very faintly, it says Mrs. Peto.  I think she is surrounded by coal miners and I wonder if one of them near her might be her son John Peto who was killed in a mining accident in 1927. ???…

Unknown Hungarian relative: Picture of the week 5/17/14

Unfortunately my days are too busy and I've not been able to keep up with this every day.  So I'm switching to weekly posts.

Here's a photo of what looks to be a group wedding taken in Perth Amboy, NJ.  My great-grandparents John Peto and Ester (Stella) Liska/Lisko were married there in 1905 but they are not in this group picture.…
