Today I have officially gone to the dogs!

Call it "Dog Days of Summer" or just plain biting off more than I can already chew...I just opened up my grandson's family tree website to the dogs or their ancestral pets.

I have been knocking this idea around ever sense I got the GenBug after I retired from my work in Animal Welfare. John Jones and Mary Brown

John Jones (son of John Jones and Mary Doughty) and Mary Brown (daughter of Preserve Brown Jr. and Mary French) can be found in old Pennsylvania Quaker Meeting records, including their marriage.

Gedcoms then lose them in regard to descendants from them.

Many of the Brown family settled along the East Fork of the Susquehanna River and can be found along it from Wilkes-Barre downstream to Sunbury.

David Charles Embrey

David Charles Embrey (Charles David Embery I have seen the name both ways) was a little Cherokee boy that was pick up form the Trail of Tears by the Embrey's. He was supossedly sitting by his dead parents along the trail crying when they picked him up and took him home. That is the story we have been told ever since I can remember. He is my great great grandfather. I would love to find some more information on him.

On 11 August 1916 my grandmother, Erma Leona Heskett, was born the third daughter of William Dale and Nina Verne (Mossman) Heskett. They lived in Morrow county, Ohio, where the Heskett family had lived since the 1820;s. Soon after grandma's birth, Nina found out that she had TB. To be closer to her family, they moved to Sioux City, IA. Nina went into a hospital and grandma was taken care of by one of her uncles. * Dr. Daniel Wills sailed with William Penn and received from him 600 acres along the Rancocas River in Burlington County, NJ. He was among the Quakers imprisoned and persecuted in England.

Hawaii- the Boston connection to a royal lineage

It started back when I took the AP American History class at Wachusett Regional High School in Massachusetts. So far my blog "The Hillman's of Elgin County" has repayed the time and effort I have put into it for the last two years. Reflections on our most recent reunion

The fourth annual Gentner family reunion was held this past Sunday. If you have read my previous blogs, you know that I am somewhat worried about reunion apathy, particularly on the part of younger family members.
