Our Family History

Make sure that your children and grandchildren pass on the stories of your parents and grandparents to their children and grand children.  I was interesting to learn that 'Grand' who was my mom's grandmother practically raised her, her siblings and first cousins.

Sarah Elisabeth Tharpe b? d? m: 4 March 1867

Sarah Elisabeth Tharpe, my most elusive ancestor.  What I know for certain is that she married Alexander McGehee on 4 March 1867, in Grayson County, Texas.  That is all I know for certain.  According to their eldest daughter, Siddie Rhuehamie McGehee Caton, Sarah was born in Arkansas.  According to Siddie's siblings, Sarah was born in multiple other states.

Family lore says she died around 1900 when her  youngest child, Minnie Mae McGehee Doughty, was 12 & she is buried in Oil…

Success and Thanks, Seminar's Youth Exposure.

The society's Seminar was a success. Thanks to any whom may have attended. I hope to attend one later this year,

Looking forward to being able to award a scholarship next year.

What does your society do with it's funds earned? Do you support your future members with a touch of what Genealogist's or Family Historian's do? Are you aware of the influence your group can have on young people,

We have had youth play a minor to major roll in our Seminars.

Peck family from Middletown Connecticut

I am descended from Martha Peck.   I know that she married John Cornwall (or Cornwell) in

Middletown in the mid 1600's.  I know nothing else and while I have found some Peck family members

cannot connect them to Martha.

Does anyone out there know any more about her.
