Went thru Belle Grove Plantation yesterday (one of the Hite homes). Picked up the book "Cedar Creek Bowmans: A Virginia Pioneer's Grandchildren" even got it autographed by the author Roquey G Jobes, Jr. I'm still reading it. I'll let you know later if there is more info about your particular Bowman in it later. Today we go on a bus tour of the historic sites relating to HITE (and BOWMAN, FROMAN and CHISHAM). I picked up other books too. A new piece of item that you might not know, since they just found this one: George Bowman's birth name was Hans Georg Baumann, b. 1700, emi: 1727, he was born in Eppingen, Germany. The source for this piece of info is Dyerle Atkins, who just came back from Germany after her genealogical excursion. She is descended thru George BOWMAN, as am I. Diana
