Hello Terry, I see we share the interest of the Machen family. Can I ask if your Machen line was connected to Utah & Idaho? My Gr-gr-great grandfather immigrated from England to Utah after serving as a missionary in England, his home country. He was from Whiston, Yorkshire, England. On the docks he married his wife, who was a Bellamy, who also was an LDS convert. I've sense been able to connect with resources in Whiston & was able to find church records at the local church (not the LDS church) to learn more about the family's background prior to the LDS conversion & migration. It seems that he was a stone mason by trade.
