For what reason did you start genealogy research?: Trying to find parents of 5x's great grandfather William P. Jacobs. Family records state that he was born in Virginia between 1765 - 1770's. I find several William Jacobs in the area, but none trace to him. I once found a tid-bit of information that his family migrated from Russia.
