The Sando(w)(e) one-name study

The database contains details of Sando(w)(e)s of mainly UK origin, recording some 14,000 events for Sando(w)(e)s, their inlaws, witnesses, other related people etc,. from the 15th century to the present day, from the UK to all round the world.. There were two main centres in Cornwall in the 16th century - around Columb Major and Minor, and isolated instances around the Fal Estuary and Gwennap. Someone had been to Feock before the 16th c. and left his mark at the crossroads known since then as Sandoe's Gate.

Sando/w/e database online, so far (Feb 2017) 1000 people born 1872-1917:

Hello Sidney,
Thank you for your welcome and enquiry as to my interest in the group. My maiden name was Sandow, and I trace back through George Sandow 1820, married to Susan Jenkin, emigrated to South Australia in 1849. I have a lot of information about the family once in South Australia, but am interested in learning more of their Cornish roots. I believe that George's parents were Stephen Sandoe, born 1787, died Wheal Butson, Parish of St Agnes on 14 Feb 1840, married to Elizabeth Benny/Binny. I would like to trace them further back, and also build up a picture of their lives in Cornwall. Kind regards, Christine
