"I'm starting to get excited about doing the Unlock the Past Queensland Coast expo in September, we're visiting Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone and the Sunshine Coast between 25 Sep and 6 Oct 2012 - details are on my…"
"I haven't been on here for a while (too busy travelling everywhere) but I will be in Adelaide too at the Congress and looking forward to catching up with others from this group. I'm giving two talks so I'll be doing a final run…"
"Good to hear you are feeling better.
I don't know where September went, but I did have a major breakthrough in my research and solved something that had puzzled me for over 30 years. But it meant I had been researching the wrong family -…"
"Thanks CoOrdinator for the reminder - it's been a while for me too.
I'm speaking at the Genealogical Society of Queensland annual seminar on Sat 6 Aug if any Brisbane members of this group are going, please say hello.
While up here I am…"
"I'm Shauna and have been researching my family since 1977 and also had the good fortune to work in archives and libraries for most of my working life. Now semi retired I am indulging myself by doing genealogy talks around Victoria (where I…"
I agree with Carmel that other eyes often find things we can't see ourselves - if you give the details in the query someone will try and find it just for the challenge - I couldn't find a census entry and tried everything, put my…"
"Thanks Geniaus for the updates from Rootstech http://geniaus.blogspot.com - sounds like it was a top conference.
Don't think Australia has ever seen a genealogy conference with 3000 attendees - maybe the 2012 AFFHO Congress in…"
Back on 4 Jan, I noted that this group was at 295 members, today I note it is 297 - slowly making our way to 300. Why don't we make Geniaus' day/week/month and push this group into the 300s? There must be people we can spread the…"
Hi Shauna, I hope all goes well with you? You are I must say my favourite Person in genealogy. You are a member of many of the groups that I am in and in each you have some valuable comments to make. Keep it up and I hope to catch up with you at the GSV some time.
Hi Shauna, thanks for reply. My g.grandmother was Susan Ann Trevaskis, (born 1859) the 2nd daughter of Henry Trevaskis and Elizabeth Renton (md. 1854). Henry was born in 1829 in Hayle, Cornwall and came to Australia in 1849, first to Burra mines (Sth Aust) and then to Bendigo in 1854. He had a younger brother Samuel, but I don't know much more about the Trevaskis family than that. Henry and Elizabeth had 8 children. Would be happy to discuss any further info with you. Regards, Denise.
You said on the Wiltshire Ancestors group "My g grandfather was Herbert William WHITE and he was born in Farley Wiltshire on 18 Jan 1864. ". May I suggest you leave a post-em against that entry on FreeBMD with the birth certificate details and your contact details?
And may I suggest you list your surnames of interest onto the English Names Directory at http://www.list.jaunay.com/engnames/
Yes - I'm not all that familiar with it yet. Am a bit short on time with Q150 things still being finalised at the moment - hopefully after the end of the year things will settle down a bit more. Good to see you on here too - perhaps we can work things out between us.
