Hi, Richard.

One of my great-grandmothers was Eva Elizabeth Dexter (b. 1857, d. 1911). She was born and died in Michigan. Her husband was John Calvin Sayer.

Hello,

I have an ancestor named Mary Dexter who married John Friend. Their daughter was Elizabeth Friend who was born in 1639 and died in 1674. She married John Packer. That is really all I know of Mary Dexter at this time.

Hi Richard, I am the person that lives in Dexter, GA I finally found out how they named Dexter. I was told that they had named this area Barnes. When the railroad started coming into this area from Savannah in 1891, and it became an official town, they couldn't decide what the right name was - so they named it Dexter meaning right in Latin. Anyway, that's what I was told. Just thought I would let you know.

Hi Richard. I have lived in Dexter, GA, since November 2008. I reallly don't know what the origins of the name is, but it's a great, little country town to live in. I'll need to find out who Dexter was named after and I'll let you know.
