Hi Rachelle ~ Thanks for your reply.  Say, I wanted to mention that on Facebook there are two genealogy groups specific to those of us with Swedish ancestry.  One group, "Swedish Heart Genealogy," has many volunteers -- both in Sweden and the U.S. -- who will do lookups for you and help with brick walls.
The other group, "Swedish/American People Search," is for Swedes looking for U.S. emigrant descendants and Americans looking for descendants of Swedish ancestors.  There's a lot of activity in both these groups and many people are finding answers they're searching for.  ~ Sue

Hello - do you know we have an active chat community here on Gen Wise? There are usually people in the room willing to do lookups, answer questions, give advice or just talk about genealogy and history. We also have scheduled talks on various subjects including trivia on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 9 pm eastern time. Please join us sometime.

Where are your Colbys from? I am interested in a George Colby who lived in Henniker NH.

Hi Rachelle ~ My Persson line is from around Filipstad, Värmlands län, Sweden.  My Grandfather was a blacksmith in the region, his sons learned tool and diemaking trade then four of them emigrated to the U.S., but the oldest (Johan Adolf -- John here, but Adolf in Sweden) returned about 1929 to remain.  I, too, would like to travel to Sweden someday to help fill in some of the gaps.
I like all the photos you've uploaded.  I haven't done this yet, but I will try to do so.  Thanks for contacting me.  It may be a long shot that we have a mutual relative, but I would enjoy sharing notes.  Good hunting to us both in our family searches.
~ Sue
