Marjorie Anne STEIN replied to Nora Galvin's discussion Out-of-staters: How do you do your Connecticut research? in the group Connecticut Research

Nora Galvin replied to Lorraine Dormer's discussion Passengers on Bounty Ships in the group Ireland and Irish Ancestry
"Lorraine, I think you are right to be mystified by this story. Since the United States had been a sovereign nation for some 70 years before the incident you describe, there does not appear to be a legal reason for such a move. Transportation was a…"

Hi Nora, I got my information on John Brown from some info my grandmother had. in about 1920 a family member named Perley Benton Brown did some research on the Browns in our family, this is where it came from. because I do not know who johns parents were, And I don't know who any of his brothers or sisters were, I would just be guessing.

Thanks for your advise. I have long suspected that it is misspelled. I have checked an old map of Galway, but found nothing similar. It looks almost like a place in Wales. Somebody along through the years probably didn't know how to spell it and just guessed. Will keep trying to locate something.
