I just read on an email  that John and Susanna may have come from Scituate, Massachusetts before moving to the Marblehead area.  Don't know where the records came from.

I knew some of  the Libby's moved up that way.  But I have no idea where the Stevens came from they just appear in Belgrade, Maine.  I will see what I can find.

Especially considering that the only transportation they had was horses.  It takes us three days by automobile to Tennessee. I can't imagine how long it would take by horse or like the Halls when they moved by Ox cart from Woolwich to Vienna in November.  They must have been so cold.  That took so much intestinal fortitude!  I'm am spoiled.  I like my creature comforts.
