For what reason did you start genealogy research?

When I was living in London, and my father (living in New Zealand) asked me to look something up about his family for him. I was hooked.

Been researching my family history for about 15 years. Gave up my old career five years ago, to retrain and study to become a librarian, so that I could one day work as a family history librarian.

Attained my dream early 2010 - and am now working professionally as a family history librarian for New Zealand's largest family history centre based in a public library!
