My great great grandmother was a Kilgore. Her name is Nancy Kilgore. Her parents were John Kilgore and Cynthia Addington.

Attached are copies of the Civil War pension application for James Collinsworth (and his widow Nancy) also the 1890 Veterans census schedule for Menifee County Kentucky - his name is recorded as James E Collingworth

According to my book " Charles Kilgore of Kings Mt." the Matilda you are talking about is not the mother of James. Her name was Malinda Matilda. The Matilda you are talking about was first married to Aaron Roberts April 30,1842.

If James went by Irving a lot that perhaps both spelling would be correct with a little note in the note section of the family tree thus making the information reflect part of who he was.

The Nelson's came from Red Bay Alabama and settled, one brother, in
Granbury Texas. My Grandfathers name was William Alsey and my Dad's name was thurman Wilbur. My great grandfather came from RedBay with a free slave--Mango--who eventually returned to Alabama. My great grandfather has a Confederate marker on his grave and was a founding Mason member in Granbury, Texas.

Hi Mary, thanks for the comment. The Wests are a recently-discovered line for me and I only have 3 generations going back to 1800 in South Carolina. I have lots more work to do on this line.
