Profile Information

What surnames are you interested in researching?
I have several hundred surnames under investigation, but the origins of GRACE is my Y-DNA project. You can view the full surname list here:
http://creativegraces.net/genindex/genindex5.html. I have now created 150 groups on GenealogyWise so far, which covers almost all my areas of interest, so I hope we can get this thing moving to the benefit of all.
What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
British Isles, but following any proven linked families also overseas. I have related lines in Canada, USA, New Zealand & Australia. Many of my ancestors grew up in hard times and frequently left the British Isle to find a better life elsewhere.
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Advanced Family History Researcher
If you are a genealogy expert, what are your specialties?
I have a number of One-Name Study databases (see website), but a great deal of general experience built up over 30 years of research. If you think we have family in common, you can always Skype me for a chat (ID: markgracegva).
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
To understand my origins. It was a task my father never lived long enough to start. As a geologist, my interests go back to the origins of Life itself, and my interest in DNA my earliest European ancestry.
Do you have a genealogy website or blog?

Hello!  Yes we are we share members of the same family on ancestry.co.uk.  I believe I shared the 1841 census of the Sestons / Jacklins with you.  Not a pleasant name so many variations in spellings and regional dialect issues !

Fortunately my dad did all the leg work in the 1970's 80's and 90's so I have had the advantage of just peicing it all together.  I am certain now however that I have located Thomas Seston abt1896 parents and siblings after only 10 years of my own research!

Have you and citations for Thomas being in the military?

Marie

Hi there,I am the daughter of Horace Walker from Birmingham. I have done a bit of work and am now on George Walker. We are all Birmingham people so I guess at some stage we 'may' be connected.Walker is a common name tho and its origins are from the farming community and is a job name...walker,tucker,fuller all softened the fleeces by treading on them in the rivers.I now live in Australia.BL
