I have Lawrence O'Bryan born in County Cork, Ireland, sometime before 1740 which was about the time he came to the US. He died after 1772 in Richmond County, North Carolina. His son was Tillotson O'Bryan 1750-1840.
Any information to confirm or add to what I have would be appreciated.
Hello Louise,
I actually have the family history for the Bennett side of our family. I will check to see if they are from Virginia. My primary interest at this point is trying to find out if Lawrence O'Bryan migrated to Richmond County from Edgecombe County. I think that he did and there is someone else from our family that is looking also. A Mary Kasper is also searching records and she thinks that she has enough evidence regarding a will that links Lawrence O'Bryan/O'Brien to Edgecombe County. Do not give up on being related to a Govenor yet. We may actually be, who knows??
Hi Louise...My 2nd great-grandmother was a Lowe from West Virginia. She married a Stanley. I have actually no info on this line of Lowes from West Virginia so anything is possible. I'd be more than happy to share any info with you as I come across it.
You did everything correctly. I will remove the names Thrower, Durham and Lowe from the Surname Groups Needed and inform all the members tonight on these groups. Thank you for creating them.

Louise you can put anything you want as a group name. My advise is to use the surname. That way if someone is looking for the Nelson group it is in the title and it will show up.
Thanks

To start a group is easy, go to the top of the page and click on groups. And then on the top right you will see "Add Group" click on that. That is where you begin to create a group. Everything is done for you, you can add the information that you want.
Responsibility would be to maintain the group. When you get members, greet them and just see if you all connect. You never know you might find a distant cousin or two. I have already. It's fun, just enjoy.
Welcome to Genealogy Wise. I added the name Thrower to the Surname Groups List. If this group is created and I am informed of it, I will let you know. If by chance you create this group or any other group, let me know, I then will delete from the lists and let all the members of Surname Groups Needed that a group(s) has been created.
