Lawrence O'Bryan

I have Lawrence O'Bryan born in County Cork, Ireland, sometime before 1740 which was about the time he came to the US. He died after 1772 in Richmond County, North Carolina. His son was Tillotson O'Bryan 1750-1840.

Any information to confirm or add to what I have would be appreciated.

Hello Louise,
I actually have the family history for the Bennett side of our family. I will check to see if they are from Virginia. My primary interest at this point is trying to find out if Lawrence O'Bryan migrated to Richmond County from Edgecombe County. I think that he did and there is someone else from our family that is looking also. A Mary Kasper is also searching records and she thinks that she has enough evidence regarding a will that links Lawrence O'Bryan/O'Brien to Edgecombe County. Do not give up on being related to a Govenor yet. We may actually be, who knows??

Hi Louise...My 2nd great-grandmother was a Lowe from West Virginia. She married a Stanley. I have actually no info on this line of Lowes from West Virginia so anything is possible. I'd be more than happy to share any info with you as I come across it.

Hi Louise
Re: Most Wanted/Lowe challenge... I told myself I would only post the alternative census ... but then I added two more items. The most important. Click HERE to see the more important posting about the alternative 1850 census.

I'll look at those more carefully in a bit. Yesterday, I drafted a comment for your challenge that I haven't yet posted. I'll need to look that over in light of this additional information.
Finishing a posting for Kate's War of 1812 group now. Then will work and post the item to your challenge. -GJ

Hi Louise ... will look more at your most excellent (!) Most Wanted reply ... but still wonder ... do you think the FHC folks might have focused on Alamance and thus overlooked records that might have been filed at Orange? Did you leave the FHC with any kind of a log showing the record groups that were searched?
Said another way, if we are absolutely sure they searched the films for Orange, it would be silly to suggest they be searched again. --GJ

Hi Louise:
I noticed there seemed traces under both surnames, Forrester/Forester and Foster. Has your family inquired for both of the local court houses?
