the litigation has to do with the indexing of the Drouin collection. The Drouin collection is still available Ancestry.ca. I have a world membership and can do look-ups for anyone. Time permitting I could also visit the National Archives here in…

Thank you Brian for your suggestion but the problem with using the Descendant Narrative Report instead is that one does not have the option to show the generation line back to the starting person, ie. Judy Schneider [41] (Louise, Adelard,…
This does not work either. It puts the user ID only after people who are no longer living or after those who married the person in question. Thank you anyway.
I have printed out a 'Descendant Book' under Reports with a 'Report Option' to 'Suppress details for living people'. The problem is that this option also removes the person's RIN number which I very much want…

What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
Canada, USA and France
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Advanced Family History Researcher
If you are a genealogy expert, what are your specialties?
I am particularly familiar with New France genealogy and all the avenues of research that go along with that.
I am a trained researcher, I used to work as a Library Technician for a government library and as a part of my duties came the responsibility to assist in the research and data collection for senior management, directors and ministers. These days I put the skills I learnt to good use in researching family history for myself and others.
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
My dear Aunt Rita passed away in 2001. She had started a family history file but had only been able to collect information on our immediate family members before her very sudden and untimely death.
As a tribute to her I set out to finish what she started. What was an 8 page document turned into a book with 972 pages of data - The Extended Catudal Family History - An In-depth Study of Eight Family Lineages including the Families: Boisse, Catudal, Chabot, Couture, Daragon dit Lafrance, Godard dit Lapointe, Fabre dit Larosée and Tremblay. Volume 2 was an e-book on DVD which accompanied Volume 1.
I was so naive that I thought that one actually can 'finish' a genealogical study; my next book The Families Catudal will be published next year.
I guess it just goes to show just how similar my Aunt Rita and I were in that she never did anything in a small way. I wish she could have lived to see the heyday of the Internet. She would have had a ball doing the research.
