Hi Judi,

You're an old pro at this! I'm sure I'll have questions for you as I go along - both about the family and about research in general.

The only pictures that I have seen of my grandfather are of him as an older man. (I didn't know him. I was about six months old when he passed away. The family lore says that I learned to crawl at his funeral.) If you have pictures scanned and won't mind sharing them, I'd love to see them, and my sibling would enjoy that, too.

Have you been to Sweden? I'm thinking about a trip there in the next couple of years. My father's side of the family (the Husets) is from Norway, just southwest of Oslo, so not too far from the Palmquist's territory in Sweden. I'd like to visit both regions.

Hope to hear from you again soon! Take care!

Hello Judi, I am very pleased to meet you, unfortunately my Pocklington family all come from Newark in Nottinghamshire. Newark is only a few miles from the Yorkshire border and there is is no reason not to imagine that the migration did not take place but I have no records of a Mary Pocklington marrying a Lawrence.
Did Mary come from the village of Pocklington (4 or 5 miles west of York)? if she did then she was probably Mary Pocklington of Pocklington and therefore landed gentry. That could be a line of enquiry for you.
with best regards Michael Duke
