My great grandmother Angeline Grant's step/adopted mother Emma Ross is the granddaughter of Joseph Pardon Babcock...Joseph was born 1832 in Boon Twnshp, Harrison County,IN. His father was James R. Babcock born 1803 in NY. James was the son of Sherman Babcock born 1762 in RI and died Jan 18 1851 in Westchester,Clark Co.,MO. Sherman's father was Job born 1721 (!) in RI.
