"Thanks Lynn!! You are right, the handwriting is the hardest - it's so hard to pick words out in old handwriting when you don't speak the language. I think that you're right - it says something about strong drinks.  How sad - he…"

How did Lars Larsson Bergman die? Translation anyone?

I'm sorry to ask again, but can anyone out there do a translation for me? I'm trying to figure out how my great-great grandfather, Lars Larsson Bergman died. He died in June of 1887, just a month before his son {my great-grandfather} died.  He was only 39 yrs old. :(Also, any suggestions on the best way to do…See More

"It is common to find Latin words in the Swedish parish records. For example, Feast Days written for a date instead of the calendar date we'd recognize, a cause of death, or even names that have been Latinized (if that's a real word?) If…"

"Thank you!  Is that common for the parish records to be in Latin?  I didn't know that I should even look out for that.  I'm really wishing that I would have taken Latin in school.... :)"

Translation of Cause of Death

I am trying to figure out what the cause of death was for my great-great grandfather, Carl Magnus Klarstrom. I can't make out what it says so that I can search through my Swedish dictionary. Can any of you make out what it says? He is the 5th person down on the left side of the page. He died in Gavle in 1890. Thanks in advance! JenniferSee More
