For what reason did you start genealogy research?

When I was fourten(I'm now 76) my grandmother Kuykendal, showed me a 645 page book entitled, "History of the Kuykendall Family" P. 1919, by George Benson Kuykendall. In it she showed me, Lorenzo Dow Kuykendall of Wicks, Arkansas(My G. Grandfather,1852-1939. And his introduction of his ancestors, is what has helped me, over the years, in finding my ancestors and living K. cousins
