Dear Gwendolyn, Thanks for your request about learning more about the Stanners line. I just contacted a genealogist in our family & he told me to refer you to two ladies who have done a lot of work on the Stanners line. Their info is Thelma Stoddard - tara@stoddard.org & Marie Christensen - mlchris@mtnet.com I don't know Marie but I have spoke with Thelma once & she has great enthusiasm for sharing & doing this work. I think you will enjoy visiting with her very much. I don't know if we are connected to the same Mary that you are speaking of...they will know. The Mary we know of is Mary Louisa Stanners who is the mother of Robert Price, our great-grandfather. She married Simon Price. This book I'm reading out talks about them being from South Wales, living in Messenden, England. Not Ireland. Mary Louisa Stanners gave birth to Robert in 1835 so she was born before the 1850 you are wondering about. I don't have my genealogy book in front of me to see if there are any other Mary Stanners...but I'm sure Thelma will be able to tell you. A few years ago I had a cousin call me from AZ. Long story short...she had been woke up by a strong voice that said, "Stanners" She was told to call me. She was impressed that someone from the other side was trying to get us to do their work on the Stanners side. I was confused why she was told to call ME as I am not a genealogist. All I do is xerox everyone else's work. :) However, come to find out a lady that I had met at work was our connection as she had a lot of information on the Stanners side also. Her name is Ethyl Hood but I dont' have her contact info except that she is from Provo, Ut. I believe they said she added her info about the Stanners line to the PAF or somehere on the Church genealogy ...so anyone can have access to it now. I just don't know exactly how to tell you how to look it up. You probably already know how. :) Good luck on your quest. It seems like there are Stanners who are hoping to reach some of us to help them get their work done. If you have time, I'd love to hear back from you to hear if you find what you're looking for. I'll keep you in my prayers. Thanks for contacting me. Connie

Hi Gwen, I have Murphy's and Quirk's in my family, but no relatives from Illinois that I know of. My dad's family name is Murphy; Timothy Murphy was my great grandfather who came over from Ireland. Michael Quirk was another great-grandfather who came over from Ireland. They died before I was born, but I've been to their graves.

Sorry I can't help.

-Frank
