For what reason did you start genealogy research?

I was adopted at 8 months old. I was told about this at a very young age, my family never kept it from me. It burned in my mind every day of my life, who was I? where did I come from? who were my parents? what was our family history? what was my true race? I had those questions and so much more, growing up I was always interested in science, I always had straight A's in science though sadly not much of anything else lol, and was deeply interested in anything genetic, historical and scientific. When I got older I began my search for my family, then on 1-1-11 the unthinkable happened, I actually was able to find my family all by myself! It was the most emotional day of my life, a year has passed and while I am grateful to have found my family and finally found some answers to the questions I had growing up, There are still many questions that have gone unanswered because of family disputes and rivalry, Much of what I have discovered has been from my own efforts and mixing science, history ,and genealogy. I have discovered so much about me and my family and our history. I have discovered things that have caused many sleepless nights with me scratching my head, pondering how any of it could be possible. It has been one hell of a roller coaster ride and I just started!.
