My great-great grandfather, Christian Schreiber, and his family immigrated to America in 1843. A relative who did genealogy research told me that she thought they settled somewhere in Pennsylvania when they first arrived. They later migrated to Wisconsin, north of Milwaukee, and I have found documentation that he purchased land in 1848.
