For what reason did you start genealogy research?

My Dad was the fourteenth child of 16 in his family. My mother was an only child. My Dad was raised in TN and moved to CA in 1936. My parents met in a small rural community in CA, married and raised my brother and me. We would visit TN and could never remember who everyone was form year to year. In 1960 my Dad took me to the cemeteries where most of the ancesters were buried. I compiled a notebook of Aunts, Uncles and cousins then, but didn't get really into genealogy until my husband passed away in 1997. Now I am adicted.
